What can I expect to be doing on this course?

This is a practical course which supports you to develop your own mindfulness practice and apply it to your everyday life.

Each class includes periods of quiet practice, allowing you some head space and time for self-care. You will learn a range of mindfulness practices, including mindful breathing, sitting meditation, guided body scan meditation, and gentle movement.

I will encourage and support you to undertake short home practices between classes. During classes, there are opportunities for group dialogue and the chance to discuss your experience of applying mindfulness in your daily life. While classes are designed to support you to bring awareness to the present moment, they are not intended to involve group therapy and you will not be under any pressure to disclose personal information.

Practical course details:

  • One 90 minute session per week for a period of between 4 weeks.
  • An overview of the theory and principles of Mindfulness.
  • Recommended 10 – 20 minutes of daily practice using 2 audio recordings guided by Susan.
  • Further mindfulness resources and information for follow up.
  • An opportunity to meet with a diverse and supportive group of people.
